A not so sweet Sixteen
Nina dreads her upcoming sixteenth birthday. She doesn’t want the government mandated tattoo that declares her a legal adult. The government says the tatoos are to protect people but Nina rejects the pressure to act like the crazy, emotional sex-teen the media says she should be. Ginnie, her mother, has taught her to search for truth. To look beyond what the Governing Council, the vids and verts, and even her friends say. When Ginnie is murdered, it is the truth that Nina must find and hold onto, the truth about her family, her friends, her world.
This exciting novel is similar to The Hunger Games series or Scott Westerfeld’s Ugly series. Karr’s futuristic world is realistic and thought-provoking. The story draws you in and keeps you turning the pages.
