My Favorite Book EVER!
Milkweed is a historical fiction book that is set in Poland during World War II. The characters are orphaned Jewish boys who run around stealing food and supplies to survive during the war. The main character is a little boy who has been orphaned so long, he can’t remember who his family is. He doesn’t even know his name…he thinks that his name is “Stop Thief”, because that is what people shout at him all the time. Uri, a teenaged orphan, decides to befriend him and give Stop Thief a new identity: Mischa
This book is by my favorite author, Jerry Spinelli, and he does a fantastic job of describing the hardships of Jewish people during Hitler’s reign, but he does it through a child’s eyes. Oftentimes, Spinelli use sarcastic humor to bring the characters and their problems to life. There are some parts throughout the book that could upset you or that use strong language, but I think it’s worth it. I recommend this book to people who like learning about history. I give it 5 stars.
Dragonfly--by Julia Golding
This is a really good book! First of all, it takes place in a fictional world. There are four princesses of the four Blue Crescent Islands. Each governs an island. The Blue Crescent Islands are pretty insignificant to other countries in the "known world". Other countries actually make fun of the Island's extremely thick culture.
Anyway, Princess Taoshira (or Tashi, as her friends and family calls her) is one of the main characters of this book. She isn't even supposed to be the princess but when the next in line for the throne died suddenly, she somehow became the "runner-up". Being a princess is very hard for Tashi. There are so many rituals to remember, and the other princesses treat her poorly.

Stumbling upon this book a few weeks ago, I was intrigued, yet wary. From the short summary I figured, "Oh, it's just another paranormal creature falls in love with a moody teenage girl book." But as soon as I started reading, I was pleasantly surprised. This book is great! It does have that romantic theme in it, but it was one of the few books in this genre I would want to read over and over. Sixteen year old Evie has never known what it's like to be normal. Possessing an ability to be able to see past paranormal creatures glamours, she is taken into the IPCA (International Paranormal Containment Agreement) To help track down and keep tabs on various paranormals. But when a mysterious paranormal creature breaks into the agency, Evie strikes up a friendship (and a small crush) with the being, and not only discovers secrets the agency has been withholding, but also the secret of her true identity. The first book in a Trilogy, I HIGHLY recommend this book.
Wings--by Aprilynne Pike
This is an amazing book! It had me hooked from page 1! This is a story about a girl named Laurel who finds out that she is a faerie, but not the kind of faerie that you would think. The author didn't write the book so far-fetched, but she made it seem logical that faeries could actually exist. There are also two more books in this series, "Spells" and "Illusions", but "Wings" is the first one. This book is one of my favorite books of all time and you should really read it!!!
MUST READ BOOK!!!!! :-D
Beastly is basically the story of Beauty and the Beast, retold in the setting of modern day society. Kyle is the most popular boy at his school. All he cares about is looks and money, but when a witch puts a curse on him, everything changes. The curse changes him into a beast, and he has to two years to find someone to love him for what he really is. This is a REALLY good book!!!
