Title: Spells
Author: Aprilynne Pike

This is an amazing book! It was a quick read and very thrilling!
The story is based upon a 15 year old Lauren and her life as a little girl growing up with hippie parents (no medicine, no artifical, all healthy) and when she turns 15 her life has suddenly begin to change...
She finds out her parents are not her true parents, she has a plant-cell based body (no blood just cloroplast) and she finds out she is a fairy and finds her true home! This book is a true mystical fiction with trolls, fairies, romance, and fighting for the right cause.

Title: Illusions
Author: Aprilynne Pike

I just had to point this out first: This is the third book of the Wings Series. Second: If you read "Illusions" right away, you're not going to understand anything that happens in the book, UNLESS you read the first two books. Third: This book is AMAZING! Okay, now, this book is about a girl named Laurel Sewell who is a scion (a scion is a faerie sent to live in the human world). In this book, Laurel has been with her boyfriend David Lawson for two years. This year is senior year. And throughout these years, Tamani has been in love with Laurel since before Laurel was sent to the human world. Tamani is a sentry from Avalon, who was sent to watch Laurel grow up without problems, that is until the events in the first book with the trolls. Continuing on with Illusions, in this book Laurel finds out that she has another enemy other than trolls. Laurels love life is slipping from the grasps of her hands from the constant fights between Tam (Tamani) and David.

At birth, Ella is inadvertently cursed by an imprudent fairy named Lucinda, who bestows on her the "gift" of obedience. Anything anyone tells her to do, Ella must obey. Another girl might have been cowed by this affliction, but not feisty Ella: "Instead of making me docile, Lucinda's curse made a rebel of me. Or perhaps I was that way naturally." When her beloved mother dies, leaving her in the care of a mostly absent and avaricious father, and later, a loathsome stepmother and two treacherous stepsisters, Ella's life and well-being seem in grave peril. But her intelligence and saucy nature keep her in good stead as she sets out on a quest for freedom and self-discovery, trying to track down Lucinda to undo the curse, fending off ogres, befriending elves, and falling in love with a prince along the way.

Before I review this I want to let everyone know that although this book has young adult content I'm not sure the rest of the series will considering people review it as a mix of Stephanie and Anita and since Anita Blake is an adult series I just don't know. Rachel Morgan is an agent that goes after preternatural criminals until she is fed up with her living-vampire boss. Ivy, a born living-vamp, Jenks, a pixy, and Rachel, a witch have all left the IS, and the only one with a bounty on her head is Rachel. She figures if she can turn in Trent, a well known councilmen, for running Brimstone, a serious Hallows drug, she could get the bounty paid off and become a free witch, but when she turns herself into an animal to sneak into Trent's office she'll learn some things she's not sure she's comfortable knowing. I gave this book 5/5 stars. It's one of my new favorite series'. I love how wacky Rachel, Ivy, and Jenks are. This book is crazy, fun, and exciting.

Title: Wings
Author: Aprilynne Pike

This is an amazing book! It had me hooked from page 1! This is a story about a girl named Laurel who finds out that she is a faerie, but not the kind of faerie that you would think. The author didn't write the book so far-fetched, but she made it seem logical that faeries could actually exist. There are also two more books in this series, "Spells" and "Illusions", but "Wings" is the first one. This book is one of my favorite books of all time and you should really read it!!!

Author: E.D. Baker

Quite sadly, I hardly have time to review these days. Heck, I hardly have time to READ these days! But when I came across 'The Wide Awake Princess' by E.D. Baker, I knew I had time enough to read it.

The story is simple enough: Princess Gwendolyn (aka Sleeping Beauty) has a younger sister, Annabell (or Annie), who is completely unaffected by magic of any kind, due to the one spell placed on her. In fact, she reverses any magic in the area where she is. Her family stays away from her so that their magically enhanced beauty, charm, and grace do not fade. Annie is just herself. Even though she is a little lonely at times, she doesn't want to be someone she's not, due to magic. At any rate, when Annie's sister's curse comes true, Annie feels the need to break it. The whole kingdom is at stake while the castle sleeps! So she sets out on a quest to find Gwendolyn's true love: a prince of any kind. And she runs into all kinds of princes...

Author: Charlaine Harris

This is one of Charlaine Harris' new books. It's good if you like a book with a steady pace of excitement, sometimes its hard to keep up. There's drama through and through. Sookie Stackhouse, a barmaid from Bon Temps, Louisiana is always getting into trouble, in this book she ends up having to get saved multiple times and even ends up becoming pledged to a vampire by accident for her own protection. Her Great-Grandfather is back and he carries the most secret things of all. Many Fae, Supes, and Vamps may die. War has broken out and everyone must be on there look out. The Faery world may be closed forever. Sookie also finds out a great secret about her parents. This is probably my most favorite series in the history of books.

Ella is cursed. That fool of a fairy Lucinda didn't mean it, not really. She gave Ella perfect obedience when given a specific order. This fact makes Ella's life absolutely miserable. When Ella's mother dies, she is sent by her father to a finishing school, with her future stepsisters, and it is they who torture her the most, at first. Ella will soon be tortured even more by the fact that her curse will prevent her from doing what she wants most. Will she ever be free of it? Ms. Levine certainly has mastered the art of writing (or rewriting) fairy tales. Ella Enchanted is probably the best Cinderella spin off I have ever read. Read more»

Spindle's End is a retelling of (you guessed it!) Sleeping Beauty. Rosie, a long awaited princess, was kidnapped legally (don't ask, read the book) and was raised as a country girl. After a very long, very complicated plot, she is now being legally impersonated (don't ask) and is being a lady in waiting to her best friend. She's the princess. The animals know. Aunt and Katriona know. Peony knows. A certain magician knows. So does the queen's fairy Sigil, and Barter. But no one else. They can't afford to let the knowledge leak out. Pernicia might find out before Rosie's twenty first birthday. How will the conflict resolve? Don't ask. Read the book, if you are ambitious enough to try it.

Title: Wings
Author: Aprilynne Pike

This book was about a girl named Laurel, who finds out that she is a fairy. Yeah, I know, it sounds like Disney garbage, but believe it or not, it turned out to be really good. So anyways, she tells her friend David (who becomes more than a friend later) and he agrees that what she is saying makes sense. Laurel meets Tamani, who turns out to also be a fairy. But then Laurel finds out that there are trolls (no, they do not eat goats) are trying to steal her land to destroy Avalon, the fairy kingdom. And they will do anything to get her land, even if it means killing her family... And no, everything's not made of flowers in Avalon, and yes, they are the same size as humans. Trust me, it was a REALLY good book. (Stephanie Meyer even said it was amazing... hello Twilight fans!!!)
