Title: Unwanteds
Author: Lisa McMann

Can you imagine a world where everything is assigned, there are no choices, everything is colorless and creativity can get you killed? This is the everyday life for, Quill, the closed in city where order and fear is what keeps people moving.

In this thriller, two twins have totally different lives. Alex, the creative one, knows he will be announced as an Unwanted, which will get him killed, because he has been caught more than twice coloring and being creative. Aaron however, has never been caught and is going to be a Wanted, which means he is important in the community. But when Alex is to be Eliminated, he is brought into a world where creativity is the point in life. But when he is found by his highly honored brother Aaron, Aaron wages war on the mysterious world, Artime. But can Alex convince the power hungry Aaron to live in peace and realize family is forever, no matter what, or is it too late?

In this completely captivating book, so many twists and turns show up that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page. I would recommend this book to boys and girls ages 10 and up because of some choices and plots that characters make. So, can Alex keep the Aaron under control or will he grow as wild as the creatures and spells in Artime?

This was a terrific story of intrigue. Sunny is a young albino woman living in Nigeria. She discovers that she has special powers and becomes friends with Chichi, Orlu and Sasha. As a team they are being trained by a local wizard and other mentors of a group that is fighting for good. An evil force that they are needed to dismantle is the Black Hat who is a serial killer of young children. Each of the young people are learning about their powers and growing in their experience of their abilities. The juju (powers) that they are finding out about are very amazing. This has great elements of fantasy in it and is well set up for another book! It is enjoyable to learn about another culture and it is also good to note that teens are similar wherever they are. Also, the librarian loves that a library serves as "headquarters".

They get put in groups and Harry and friends get put in Gryffindor. Then flying lessons start and Harry becomes a Quidditch player like his dad. (Did I mention that Harry Potter's parents are dead?) At the end of the book, Harry finds the sorcerer's stone and defeats Voldemort (his enemy). To be continued...

I give this 5 out of 5 stars. I was not sure how much I was going to like it because it was different that the books I normally read, but once I got the hang of reading it, it was really good!

You can be, just by reading this book! This book takes you in and holds you untill its done! This is just one of my favorite reads!
What if all your wishes could come true? Blink your eyes, drink a fizzing pink potion, and poof! Life is perfect. That’s Rachel’s (the main character)situation. Except she’s not the one who suddenly has magical powers. Her younger sister is. And as Rachel would tell you, spellbooks are wasted on the young!
Yes, yes, of course world peace and cures for horrible diseases are important. But so is dancing without looking like she’s being electrocuted, winning back her best friend, stopping her dad’s wedding, and finding a date for Spring Fling.
But can one non-witch do that yet??? Find out in the first book of Magic in Manhatten if all of Rachel's wishes come true without the help of magic.

As Rachel hunts for the truth behind a terrifying murder, the discovery of a shocking family secret is about to throw her entire life into question. And the long-lost ancient knowledge she seeks resides in the demonic ever-after. Rachel is always doing things she'll regret later, will she ever learn? A lot of this book is spent in the ever-after and on the edge of your seat. Big surprises in this one! It's really good, nobody dies for once. 4/5 just because.

A fiendish serial killer stalks the Hollows, claiming victims across society, and the resulting terror ignites a vicious Inderland gang war. And while the ancient artifact Rachel is hiding may be the key to stopping the murderer, revealing it could also create a battle to the death among the numerous supernatural races that live in and around Cincinnati. For every action has its price, and when the vampire master Piscary is set free and the demonic Algaliarept dares to walk openly under the sun, even Rachel Morgan can't hide forever. This book was good in the beginning, but what happens after Piscary is let loose make's me sad and angry. 3/5 stars, just because Kisten died. I like him a lot.
