“ It’s the annual candy making contest!!” says the owner of Life is Sweet Candy Factory. 4 kids. 1 girl & 3 boys. 1’s the candymakers son.Competing against 32 other kids. 4 days to make a new candy that the judges will love to death. In 4 days to learn all about candy making that you need to make your candy. If you don’t put all the ingredients down on the paper for the contest you are disqualified. The CandyMakers is a book full of suspense and kept me on the edge of my chair. What would you do if you had 4 days to create the world's next best candy? While learning about candy and the process of making it, readers may have a tough time figuring out the theme. Though I think the theme of this book is Trust and Friendship. While reading this book the main characters: Daisy, Logan, Miles , and yes sad but true Philip learn about trusting one another and making true friends.

Wendy Mass brought me on a exciting but very mysterious ride in her book The CandyMakers. Masses way of writing made the book IMPOSSIBLE to put down. This book is filled with twists, action, and lots and lots of facts about candy. This book was so good in made me hate to have to put it down. I recommend this book for kids ages 10- 14 or grades 5-7 if you enjoy action and mysteries. If you knew what was good for you, you would run to the store and get this book right now because this book earns............ a well earned CUPCAKE!!

This book is told by two high school seniors who could not be more different. Echo is trying to emerge into “normalcy” after a series of traumas: Her brother died in Afghanistan; she is repressing a terrible incident with her mother; and her new stepmother (and former babysitter) is pregnant. Furthermore, Echo’s father has pushed her away from the art classes she loves.

At least Echo has a stable home. When her new counselor assigns her to tutor Noah, she’s unsure about getting involved with a reputed stoner. Noah, for his part, is also struggling to overcome the death of his parents, which separated him from his younger brothers and changed their lives forever.

This is absolutely one of the best books I have ever read! I literally caught myself yelling and laughing out loud at time while reading. :-) 5 out of 5 stars. You won't be able to put the book down...I know I didn't ;-)

Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander's face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows with complete certainty that he is her ideal mate . . . until she sees Ky Markham's face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black.

The Society tells her it's a glitch, a rare malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she's destined to lead with Xander. But Cassia can't stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society's infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she's known and a path that no one else has dared to follow.

Vernon Culligan had been dead to the town of Draydon, Virginia, so long that when the crusty Vietnam vet finally died, only one person noticed. Twelve-year-old Gabe grew up in the foster care system until a social worker located his Uncle Vernon two years before. When he comes home to discover that his uncle has died of a heart attack, he's terrified of going back into the system--so he tells no one. The next day, he discovers a strange note in his mailbox: I HAVE A SECRET. DO NOT BE AFRAID. And his uncle's body is gone. At first I thought this book was going to be preternatural, but it's not. It's pretty amazing though. It's not really long, it's mysterious, sometimes sad, but you can always tell that this boy really loved his uncle. I give this book 5/5 stars because overall it's such a nice story.

When was the last time you read a hilarious thriller that prepared you for your quiz on Italian explorers, while making you immensely hungry? Neil Flambé is fourteen, a culinary prodigy, and a stuck up brat. Sure, he's the cockiest of the braggarts ("I can cook better than anyone in the world!"), but he may actually be right. He's got a hippie cousin, who's much older than him, that knows more than you'd think. And Neil's got his nose. His marvelous, brilliant nose, the nose that allowed him his status as (possibly) the best chef ever. His nose has even solved mysteries! (Beat that!) But what happens when some of the best chefs in town turn of dead of a poison Neil can't identify? And...wait! Are those mysterious notes actually linked to Marco Polo? We're not sure...yet. Isabella is another story. Or is she? "Neil Flambé and the Marco Polo Murders" is a book well worth anyone's time. It is a mystery, a history, cook book (well, not actually) and a grand old time! Check it out as soon as you can!
